Wood and weight … Wood and weight play a huge role in tone bud. Go out and play a swamp ash guitar and compare it to an alder guitar. Every note that is played through a guitar resonates through all of the body, therefore it affects tone and also sustain. Why do you think heavier guitars have more sustain to them than lighter ones?
wood plays no role … wood plays no role in tone. hard to believe but….Show me two gibsons with same wood specs pickups etc even similar weight that sound identical. some of them even sound mediocre. but if you can’t rest your soul until you pay big bucks for a guitar…till then many epis, grecos, esp ec’s tokais even cheap ibanez arts sound at least as good though different, some even ramarkably better.
Nice guitar but the … Nice guitar but the actual Gibson Les Paul is to die for…The actual Gibson gives you insulated pots and hand wound pick-ups. The wood is always of first class select. And both body and neck are true not a 16th” depth top ply grades.
Big difference in sound from the two. But with this obvious sound difference comes a big price. You can buy 3 of these Epiphones for the price of a single Studio Gibson Les Paul. If your a serious guitar play save your money and buy an authentic USA made Gibson.
