Oh man trust me, I …
Oh man trust me, I am a HUGE EVH fan, he’s the reason I started playing guitar, and I’ll be the first to say he has done huge amounts and pushed boundaries in his playing, in the rock idiom. Outside of this comfort zone I do not know how well he would fair up to guys like Tony Levin and Jan Hammer who know all to well about playing outside comfort zones.

I agree….to an …
I agree….to an extent….Eddie is a very accomplished piano and keyboard player in his own right. He also plays drums and bass. Saying that Jan and Tony can play things that Eddie wouldn’t know where to begin is reaching a bit. Tony and Jan are very good though.

Be careful about who you are talking about. Jan Hammer and Tony Levin are two of the most respected musicians of their respective instruments (keyboard and bass) and can play things eddie wouldn’t know where to begin, for example jazz and jazz fusion.

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the reply WENGERGOONER… I’ve looked at this vid a lot, and I’m sure it isn’t Al. Al’s style is a little more “melodic” to me, and the unfortunately the one or two camera shots they get of him aren’t clear enough.
Cheers, Brian
