Les Paul Junior or Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Junior?
I’m looking at buying a new electric guitar and I need to know what the difference is between the following guitars: Epiphone Les Paul Junior, Gibson Les Paul Junior and the Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Junior. I need to know whether the signature is just paying for the name or is there a real difference in sound?
I want the kind of sounds green day gets through the LPJ Billie Joe custom which apparently has different pickups etc. I want to know whether I wont get that sound with a regular LPJ. When I write something on my acoustic and think ‘This’ll sound awesome on electric!’ then play it on my SG i just get disappointment coz the sound i imagine in my head is the Green Day guitar style.
First off, if you can afford an actual Les Paul, don’t bother with an Epiphone kind, those are beginner models. As for the decision of whether or not to get the Billie Joe model or the regular one, I’d say get a regular LPJ, because you want to have your own personal style, as opposed to a guitar designed to be just like his.
