they’re both crappy pacs dude, buy the special II if you must, but it’s much more worthwhile to get a decent guitar, not expensive or anything, but like a used 200 or 300 dollar one.
you will probably upgrade very fast depending on how fast you pick up playing. if you are a VERY beginner, then go with one of the packs, cause you don’t know if you’re gonna like it. then again, a very crappy guitar might not make you sound as good as you want, but keep in mind NO guitar will make a bad player sound good. none. dude, I have a crappy guitar that i take to jam and kinda beat up that didn’t cost me hardly anything that i got just to beat up. it’s fun to have a junker, but when you get better, you will probably want a nicer guitar once you figure out the music you like playing and the tone you’re after.

I’ve played both Les Pauls and SGs, and it’s a close call, but I prefer the Les Paul, particularly for blues. It’s got a warmer, fatter kind of sound. The only drawback vis a vis the SG is that it’s considerably heavier.
Recorde last year using a Gibson Les Paul Junior - Double Cut - TV Model - VOS with my 1996 Fender USA Tweed Pro Jnr with Weber Speaker and Philips JAN5751 tubes.

go to a pawn shop and look for used marshall amps that are still in good shape, you should be able to find one under 400
