This guitar was made with a mahogany Les Paul Special Double cutaway body and a mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard from Warmoth. It has a 24.75″ scale length, Gotoh 510 hardware and the pickups are PAF-style GFS Vintage 59 humbuckers. The amp is a 5w Blackheart with an Eminence speaker and a Ibanez TS9 for distortion. Joe tells fans during a meet ‘n greet why he wanted his signature model Gibson Les Paul to come with a relic/factory-worn finish — so people will take them out & play them, instead of keeping them in their cases!

Recorded in the lobby of the Missouri Theatre in Columbia, Missouri, a few hours before Joe took the stage with his band.

The one with the Ernie Ball strap attached is his own guitar (Serial #001); the one he’s playing at the beginning of the video is one of his signature models owned by the guy standing to my right.

I could buy a Gibson Les Paul Custom from the early 70’s,or I could get a new one.I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had experience with vintage guitars and their reliability(neck problems and the such).The guitar has to be tough enough to withstand everyday use and road use.Thanks

Les Pauls are renown for their durability. If it has been kept in good shape there should be no problems with playability. A early 70s Les Paul would be a great instrument and could be valuable too. If it is in good shape I would prefer the old one over the new one

I have a les paul junior and i’m wondering what brand of strings are best for my guitar

I have one of those myself and love it. I just use Elixir Custom Nanoweb Light .009 - .046. Some folks prefer 10’s on the Les Paul though.
